New kid on the block
I have just made my new blog. It is very exciting and I am planning to use blogging in my classroom. Wish me luck.

G’day Netty,
As a newbie you might get some comments back from people taking part in the comment challenge. Hope you come to the next session where we can improve the blogroll, add an avatar and include the clustrmap.

Hi Miss W
I am looking forward to learning more on Monday. I really appreciate your time in teaching us less techno savvy.
My aim is to open a class blog ready for next term.

While NAPLAN testing was on, I have had some of your grade 6 students in the computer lab, and they seem keen to participate in a blog. Make sure they also create an avatar so it can appear with their comments and posts. I will have to check up how to do this with Edublogs.

Congrats on getting started in blogging.
I have been blogging with my classes (this years and last years) since August last year. Initially I set a weekly/fortnightly task for the class to blog about. The result of this last year was to see a greater enthusiasm for writing as the students had a purpose and audience for their writing – especially some of the boys.
One of the best things I have seen is the interaction with other classes in Australia and around the world as we gather “blogging buddies”. Please feel free to visit my blog at: http://classblogmeister.com/blog.php?blogger_id=98041
and let me know if you have any further questions.
Happy Blogging!!

Hi Netty,
One thing you will need to teach your students before they start commenting on other blogs is to be internet savvy. They should only ever use their first name or the initials of their names. I notice some have used both first and surnames. This is for their safety. A good place to start about internet safety is the Australian government Cyberquoll website. Great cartoon type videos.
